Eduardo Fernandez has provided some examples of measuring the progress of training and behavior.  Below are some examples and in the left column are different forms that can be used for training, enrichment and behavior.
 

 


This is a chart measuring the success of target training in 10 trials at different lengths from target for a reptile.  Below is the graph that shows the progress visually.  By recording the training process, you can determine the progress of the training and explain the learned behavior for future training.

Below are behavioral definitions for the chart above.

BEHAVIORAL DEFINITIONS Alligator missippiensis
Listed as Classes/Categories  (I – V), and then behaviors under each Class.
I. ACTIVE
Non-patterned Swimming (NS) – Swimming in an irregular or non-patterned way.
Non-patterned Swimming w/ Contact (NC) – Same as NS, but with contact to a surface by face.
Land Active (LA) – Moving or exploring a surface/object on land.
Mat Contact (MC) – Face contact on enrichment mat.
Other Contact (OC) – Contact with a manipulable object other than the mat.
II. SOCIAL
Interacting w/ Other Alligator (IOA) – Any body contact with another alligator.
Vocalization at Alligator (V) – Vocalizing while oriented towards another alligator.
***Note: small, non-oriented grunts while swimming do NOT get coded as this***
II. INACTIVE
Resting (R) – Bobbing/non-movement in the water.
Land Resting (LR) – Same as R, but on land.
III. STEREOTYPY
Circle Swimming (CS) – Swimming in a repetitive pattern, with at least 1 complete circle.
Circle Swimming w/ Contact (CC) – Same as CS, but with contact to a surface by face.
IV. OTHER
Out of Sight (OS) – Alligator is not visible to the observer.
Other (O) – Alligator engages in a behavior that does not meet the above behaviors.
