Ball Pythons with soft substrate and hide box.  There are 5 animals living in a 55 gallon aquarium.  These animals are frequently used in education programs.

Snake Enrichment is for stimulation and is just a basic change in the environment.  Remember, to be really affective you have to remove the stimulus at the peak of activity.  For example:  If you place a scent item in side the enclosure of the snake, You want to make sure you take it away when the snake reaches 20+ tongue flicks per minute.  The tongue flicks are also a tool for measuring the effectiveness in the enrichment activity.

Scent an inanimate item with food, and place in the enclosure for 5 minutes. (Be sure that the snake can not swallow the item)

Introduce  predatory scents into the  snake's enclosure.

Feed snakes in restraining tubes.  (Sometimes cap the restraining tubes for a while before feeding.)

Place an electric tooth brush against the enclosure during feeding time.
